Kong may have initially shunned the limelight like Garbo but in later life was forced out of obscurity to pay the bills. He appeared in a series of badly made Japanese B-movies, fighting men in Godzilla suits. He also had several walk on parts in Italian 'giallo' movies & Spaghetti Westerns.
His last screen appearance was in a zero budget sci-fi flick made in Paris in 1977. He played a moon monkey.
Yeah, I heard the story too...I'll tell you more about that later. Incidentally, I'm inclined to think that there are no badly made Japanese B movies. P.S. Kong loved the limelight.
