Bill, we met a few years ago and I remember you as a might testy but certainly not as a cretin. I've never seen bull-riding rodeo style - apart from the occaisional snatch in cowboy movies and Monty Clift as an accident-prone bull rider in THE MISFITS. If it was available this side of the atlantic I would propably go. I have 2 questions: What happens to the bull after the ride? Does he go back to the ranch or down to the butcher's block? Do they bet on Bull-riding? ( They don't on Bull-fighting...We know who is going to win) P.S. I once saw Recortadores (Bull jumping) in the arena at Arles and hope to see it again. They play a tag-team game in the South of France called Course Camargaise using the long legged, high-horned black bulls of the Rhone delta. They are beautiful animals - as fast as antelope - which frequently jump the callejon and charge around among the inner ring of spectators. It's a rowdy, working-class game, which lacks the baroque style and solemnity of the Corrida but it is hugely popular and very authentic to the region.

Andrei, interesting remark. The torero is seen during the Paseo (the entry of the matadors and their teams of banderilleros and picadors into the arena at the opening of the corrida.)

Actually while I'm here, I should tell you that once upon a time, back at Uli's old haven, Mikey Hirsch gave me a little glimpse at the walls of your office...it was superb some of the stuff I saw there...It must've been about 6 years ago, and you've definitely been an inspiration ever since, I assure you. Long live Limbolo... :)
Thanks Mark, Things have slowed down in Limboloand recently. Reason being the improvement in the weather. I am spending more time on patrol with Madam Limbolo than twiddling around on the Mac in my spare time. And there's a movie in preparation which is more absorbing than the last one.
