A note to readers who may be too young or too far away: Frank Pakenham, 1905-2001 - the 5th. LORD LONGFORD. A tireless campaigner for causes noble and ignoble. I did not know that the fabulously wealthy Oscar Grillo harboured a sensual passion for him. I don't know why the confession comes at this time but that might just be Lord Longford's distinctive bald pate looming over the arena.
