I hope someday you´ll draw Le Chien Andalou also.... Yesterday I´ve shown you art to some Argentinean colleagues and they loved it. Stay well, Limbolo.
Matt, Thanks, yes, suddenly there were all these people out there.
JJ, I love Leyendecker - I see you've mentioned him on your blog. You're fortunate to get close up to his work. In Europe he's not a well known figure. I honour him as one of the great masters of American illustration and I hope I've learned some lessons from him but I don't plan on doing any pastiches.
Oscar, The Andalusian dog...Hmmm... Interesting. Thanks for the Argentinian exposure. There is more to come from the Navaraise bull. I must be off: Alan Yentob has a program on HOLBEIN in 5 minutes.
Cali, Stef, Jenja, Karla, Good evening and thanks.
Jenja, The egyptian series was based on the art of AKHENATEN's court and culture. I find these links and benchmarks in history very fascinating.
This image is part of a larger picture in the 'Navaraise Bull' series I am working on. The costume of the youth is accurate - I hope - to the XIVth.C. It is based on paintings from the kingdom of Navarre which depict primitive corridas in a region which is now split between Spain and France.
