They are 'inspired'/stimulated by the writings of Amos Tutuolah, a Nigerian janitor who, sometime in the late 1940's, decided to while away the night hours by writing novels. The 'Palm Wine Drinkard In Search Of His Dead Palm Wine Tapster' and 'My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts' are his masterpieces. If you're familiar with them you'll know their power. They're as addictive as African herbs. I return to them again and again in search of refreshment and frights.
