Modern life. Something like the view of Jacques Tati in "Playtime"

Gentlemen, comrades,

Thank you. I am thinking of the visual equivalent to a recording by Rudy Van Gelder.

Good point. "Strode Rode" from Saxophone Colossus perhaps?

Oscar Grillo said...

Nah!...I believe "Blue Seven" is more appropriate.

More twinkly... The Modern Jazz Quartet playing 'Round Midnite'.

Is it the Large Hadron Collider? Or a Blake's 7 set maybe?

Neither so sublime nor so crummy.
Oscar's comment about 'Playtime' has it quite right. Most of our public spaces are now like this.

"Round Midnite" by the MJQ sounds good to me. In my blog "okgrillo" I've posted today a very good Miles track produced by Van Gelder.

brilliant TECHY... I love it.

MJQ recorded Round Midnight for Atlantic. So Rudy Van Gelder wouldn't be involved.
The 'Blue Haze' sessions have a good warm sound. Perhaps it was everything recorded after the move to a new building in Hackensack that has that clenched, cold sound I associate with Van Gelder. The musicians all sound like they've kept their overcoats on.
