This from a resent holiday in the south of France?
I like it. I've been trying to make a brush that yields similar trees to yours. (can't quiet get it.) I really like how painterly you manage to make them.
As always great work!

Senez is just off the Route Napoleon. I've been there to draw a few times.

I think I used 3 different brushes on the trees. You have to chuck your hand around to do trees. If you try to be careful they look like giant broccoli.

I remember from my childhood, when I used my grandfathers ancient dia-projector to see images of beautiful illustrations (1001 nights it was, i think) Id be sitting silently in my room, in the darkness, without nothing else but the glowing image on the wall. Mesmerized, I felt in my stillness that Id become one with it.

Neil, your work often evokes the same feeling, the same feeling I've been chasing my whole life.

Thank you for reminding me of it.

Hi Neil,

Hadn't seen your above response on trees and the potential hazards of them becoming broccoli. I have to admit, I have definitely painted my fair share of broccoli infested woodlands.
