Magnifica la bestia!
@____@"How do u make a cast of a bull the coolest thing ever" by Neil Ross.i absolutely love it. sw
I like it ! Which material did you use?
He is made from oil-clay (CHAVANT); cast in plaster-polymer mixed with acrylic paint (lamp black and yellow ochre). The horns are moulded in stuff called 'Premo' which looks surpringly like polished wood when you bake it in the oven.It was difficuilt to get the horns right and I had to re-do them so many times that my desk is now littered with little horns; as though there had been a holocaust of tiny cattle.
oh my god, neil, i can't even tell if this is a sculpture or one of your digital rendering, that is amazing.i am certain that if you had mentioned this was a 2d work we would have believed you.same composame "cadrage"even though it's a photo.
Very nice work!
Hello Limbolo! As I remember you were the first to "discover" my blog!So I'm her to proudly say that today I reached 100 posts/100 collages!!I want a visit cos' I'm clebrating!!I'll be back when I reach 200...Nice weekend!!Excelent work in your blog as allways!
Fabulous! Limbolo is multi-skilled. Love to see a full figure for the next one.
That is a magnifique head.
Full of strength.Minoan...
One of the best!:o)Fantasric!
You reworked it digitally afterwards?
I de-saturated the overall colour - which had become yellow/red saturated in the original exposure - and darkened the shadow at left.
I am proud to be the firs to tell you that it's a load of bull.See you during the week.
More Cock'n Bull from Cowan...
Ah.It's incredible how similar this effect is compared to your paintings. The choice of lighting and the mood are exceptional. I truly believe you to be amongst the 10 most talented people on the planet.I recently visited Mr Cacoualt's site and have had no end of fun comparing and contrasting both of your styles. I think he posted more work?Hope to see you for a Polonium Mulled Wine before Xmas. I'll be loitering with intent underneath the mistletoe with Elliot.
Nicolas, Belinha, Stef, Riabo, Oscar, Stef, Dodos, Balkano, Shelly, Cali, Matts*2,Many thanks for your remarks...See you at the old Bull & Bush...
Very beautiful. YOu sir are an all around genious. It is proven by your ability to work effectively in all formats.
Thats superb Neil :)
The complete artist.I'm sure you are good at Architecture too, as the Renaissance artists.
You can loiter as close to me as you like Crookie, but you'll have to kiss me at some point or you can loiter elsewhere.
The House of Asterion by Jorge "Georgie" Luis Borges....Sorry, Limbolo. I am testing if I can leave comments in your blog. Looks like the blogs from those who switched to the beta version don't accept the "old" passwords. Does anybody know anything about this?
Can't help you through that part of the labyrinth I'm afraid, Oscar...
Yes..I can confirm that you cannot write comments in the new beta blogger unless you yourself have already suscribed to it....Madness!
Aha...New forms of dictation and buracracy. We must conform or be left behind, waiting like mad, tragic ASTERION for the coup de grace.Meanwhile, Dr. ALZHEIMER follows like a hellhound on the trail...I used to know how to zpell burakrazee...
What a joyful perspective! :(
There are so many beautifully organic details in the shadow! I want to touch it.its remarkable how many qualities of your work translate into this absolutely new medium. I guess they are still part of the same visual voice. It really reads like a painting to me and I love it!and btw. what is it with you and all those bulls? Oscar, I think the password in the new Beta remains the same, only the username is now the e-mail address you entered when you switched. Hope I could help. Unfortunately blogger is as far as I know the only free blog that does not stamp you to death with all those flashy ads.
Dodos,I think the Greeks invented irony.Jenja,Thanks for the advice. The Bull is, for me, a presiding metaphor and an important challenge. Tauromachy is a productive, if unfashionable, drug. And there is no cure for its addiction.
Beautiful and powerful at the same time. Love the art on your blog:)
I don't think i can put into words anything that will do this justice. But i have to try, 'Bloomin Marvelous'...
What's it modelled with Neil?
Very good, nice lighting too.
I know someting is great when it makes me want to do something similar. Please let me know if you cast it, I'm down for one.
WOW!! Amazing!! Stunning!! BRAVO!! WOW!!
