I have recently tried my hand at a little sculpture.
Regular visitors will not be surprised at the subject matter.

i absolutely love it.

He is made from oil-clay (CHAVANT); cast in plaster-polymer mixed with acrylic paint (lamp black and yellow ochre).
The horns are moulded in stuff called 'Premo' which looks surpringly like polished wood when you bake it in the oven.
It was difficuilt to get the horns right and I had to re-do them so many times that my desk is now littered with little horns; as though there had been a holocaust of tiny cattle.

You reworked it digitally afterwards?

I de-saturated the overall colour - which had become yellow/red saturated in the original exposure - and darkened the shadow at left.

I am proud to be the firs to tell you that it's a load of bull.
See you during the week.

Ah.

It's incredible how similar this effect is compared to your paintings. The choice of lighting and the mood are exceptional. I truly believe you to be amongst the 10 most talented people on the planet.

I recently visited Mr Cacoualt's site and have had no end of fun comparing and contrasting both of your styles. I think he posted more work?

Hope to see you for a Polonium Mulled Wine before Xmas. I'll be loitering with intent underneath the mistletoe with Elliot.

You can loiter as close to me as you like Crookie, but you'll have to kiss me at some point or you can loiter elsewhere.

The House of Asterion by Jorge "Georgie" Luis Borges....

Sorry, Limbolo. I am testing if I can leave comments in your blog. Looks like the blogs from those who switched to the beta version don't accept the "old" passwords. Does anybody know anything about this?

limbolo said...

Can't help you through that part of the labyrinth I'm afraid, Oscar...

Oscar Grillo said...

Yes..I can confirm that you cannot write comments in the new beta blogger unless you yourself have already suscribed to it....Madness!

Aha...
New forms of dictation and buracracy. We must conform or be left behind, waiting like mad, tragic ASTERION for the coup de grace.
Meanwhile, Dr. ALZHEIMER follows like a hellhound on the trail...

I used to know how to zpell burakrazee...

What a joyful perspective! :(

Dodos,
I think the Greeks invented irony.

Jenja,
Thanks for the advice.
The Bull is, for me, a presiding metaphor and an important challenge. Tauromachy is a productive, if unfashionable, drug. And there is no cure for its addiction.
