Drink?

A few months ago I was asked to design a creature made of screwed-up paper.
It was for a commercial advertising AMP-COLA. (You can drink it.)
I did a few collages made of paper scraps.
They used one of them.
Not this one.
But this is the one I prefer.

The George Robey. A pub in Finsbury Park. North London.
...Right across the street from the Islamic Centre.

I used to go to the ROBEY on Sunday afternoons when there was jazz.
It's been closed for I don't know how long and they seem to be doing something with it.
...We'll see.

Blue Man

I've recently been doing development illustration on this animation feature project for writer, Bob Swain.
The story is set among the people of the Sahara desert.
Bob is now seeking further funding in Europe and elsewhere.
It's been sheer pleasure to work on this wonderful material and I hope we can continue in the near future.

the bull's head

Many years ago I went to hear the great JIMMY WITHERSPOON singin' and swingin' the blues at the Bull's Head pub in Richmond.

I've drawn him here - as I remember him - without looking at photos to remind me of his features.
I think he was with Dick Morrisey's group that saturday afternoon.
